Denture Repair & Reline
To ensure that your dentures work and fit correctly, it is recommended that you get your dentures replaced at least once in five to seven years. However before then, your dentures might require some repairs.
Types of Denture Repairs
- Denture reline: with time the hard and soft tissues inside the mouth change hence your dentures will need to be resurfaced to ensure a firm fit.
- Denture rebase: denture base is replaced with a new one. Your dentist transfers replacement teeth from the old base to the new base.
- Denture adjustment: in case you have some soreness in your mouth tissue or gums due to pressure exerted by your dentures, your dentist will adjust your dentures to ease this pressure.
All NoFrills Dental practices have denture labs within their establishments. Your dentures will be ready in a matter of days and not weeks. This therefore means that you will receive quicker service, make fewer visits to your dentist; and any repairs or adjustments will be done quickly to ensure that you get the perfect fit.
Why your dentures need to be replaced at least once in a period of 5 to 7 years
Over time the shape of your mouth varies. As you become older your gums and bones tend to shrink and ebb which makes your dentures lose grip. Loose or worn out dentures make your mouth prone to infections and sores. Your NoFrills Dental practice dentist will recommend when you will need to get your dentures replaced.
