Which card you have, and what it gets you

Your card decides your subsidy tier. CHAS Blue and Orange are income based: Blue for households earning $1,500 or less per person a month, Orange for $1,501 to $2,300. Merdeka Generation and Pioneer Generation cards are issued by birth cohort, need no income test, and carry the highest caps of all. CHAS Green does not include dental subsidies, and Public Assistance cardholders receive full subsidies automatically. You apply online with Singpass; see CHAS eligibility and application for the current criteria.

Maximum subsidy per claim. Bars show the CHAS Blue cap as a share of the midpoint of the MOH benchmark range; Merdeka and Pioneer cards cover slightly more, and the actual share depends on your clinic's fee. Source: Ministry of Health, 1 September 2025; fee benchmarks at moh.gov.sg.

Every card also has yearly claim limits, and a few procedures work differently (dentures are capped per 3 calendar years, and multi-visit treatments claim the subsidy on completion). The full 18-procedure table, the claim limits and two worked bill examples are in our 2026 CHAS dental subsidy guide.

How to use your card at NoFrills Dental

  1. Book at any of our clinics (Suntec City, Marina Square, Marine Parade, Tanjong Katong) and mention your card when you book.
  2. Bring your card and NRIC on the day. Both are checked at registration before the subsidy can be applied, and your card must still be valid.
  3. Get the itemised quote first. We display the MOH fee benchmarks next to our price list, the dentist confirms which procedures meet the CHAS claim guidelines, and you see the fee, the subsidy and your balance before anything starts.
  4. Pay only the balance. We claim the subsidy for you; for multi-visit treatments such as crowns, dentures and root canals, the claim goes in when the treatment is completed.

Seniors 60 and above: add Flexi-MediSave

From mid-2026, Singaporeans aged 60 and above can use Flexi-MediSave to offset up to $400 a year for root canal treatments and permanent crowns at CHAS dental clinics, on top of the CHAS subsidy itself. Standard Medisave remains for surgical procedures such as wisdom tooth surgery and implants. How the two stack, with a worked example, is in our Flexi-MediSave 2026 guide; ask our front desk about scheme onboarding when you book.

Frequently asked questions

Which NoFrills Dental clinics accept CHAS?

All four of our Singapore clinics see CHAS, Merdeka Generation and Pioneer Generation patients: Suntec City, Marina Square, Marine Parade and Tanjong Katong. Mention your card when you book so the front desk can prepare your registration.

What do I need to bring?

Your CHAS, Merdeka Generation or Pioneer Generation card and your NRIC. Both are needed at registration for the subsidy to be applied, and the card must be valid on the day. You can check your remaining claims for the year in MyCHAS with Singpass.

Will I still pay anything after the subsidy?

Usually yes. CHAS works on co-payment: the subsidy is deducted per claim up to a cap, and you pay the balance. If a clinic is GST registered, GST is added to the fee before the subsidy is deducted. Every CHAS clinic must give you an itemised bill showing the fee, the subsidy claimed and what you pay.

Can I combine CHAS with Medisave or Flexi-MediSave?

They cover different things, so yes. CHAS covers non-surgical procedures like fillings, dentures, crowns and root canals. Medisave covers surgical procedures such as wisdom tooth surgery and implants. From mid-2026, Flexi-MediSave adds up to $400 a year for root canals and permanent crowns for patients aged 60 and above, on top of CHAS.

Can NoFrills Dental refer me to a specialist as a subsidised patient?

Yes. A CHAS dental clinic can refer CHAS, Merdeka Generation and Pioneer Generation cardholders to a public dental National Specialty Centre such as NDCS or NUCOHS, where you are treated as a subsidised patient. Bring your NRIC and the referral form to your first specialist visit.
