Dr Benedict Ong

Senior Dental Surgeon

Focused on surgery and endodontics, with a passion for relieving pain and restoring confidence.

About the Doctor

A Career Devoted to Patient Care

Dr Benedict Ong is a graduate of the National University of Singapore. His early career took him through the Singapore Armed Forces and the National University Hospital, where he developed strong clinical foundations across a wide range of dental disciplines.

Today, Dr Benedict focuses on surgery and endodontics — two areas that combine technical precision with a meaningful, often life-changing impact on patients. He is particularly passionate about relieving pain and helping patients regain the confidence to smile, eat and speak comfortably.

His approach is patient-first and relationship-driven. Rather than treating individual issues in isolation, he takes the time to understand each patient's broader oral health and personal goals — building long-term relationships rooted in honesty, trust and individualised care.

Beyond the Clinic

Fitness, Family & Lifelong Discipline

We believe great dentistry starts with great relationships — here's a little more about who they are outside the chair.

Outside the clinic, Dr Benedict is committed to staying active — whether it's running, training at the gym or playing tennis. He believes the same discipline that drives a good fitness routine also makes for great clinical care.

Family time is equally important. He values the quiet moments spent with loved ones as a reminder of why long-term health and confidence really matter.

His philosophy: be honest, be thorough, and treat every patient the way you would treat your own family.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is root canal treatment painful?
Modern root canal treatment is typically no more uncomfortable than a regular filling. Dr Benedict uses effective local anaesthesia and a gentle, methodical technique — most patients are surprised at how comfortable it is.
Do I really need to remove my wisdom teeth?
Not always. Wisdom teeth only need removal if they're impacted, causing pain, repeated infections, decay, or crowding. Dr Benedict will assess with X-rays and only recommend extraction when it's clearly justified.
What should I do in a dental emergency?
Call the clinic as soon as possible. For severe pain, swelling, trauma, or a knocked-out tooth, we'll do our best to see you the same day. In the meantime, manage pain with paracetamol and apply a cold compress for swelling.
How long does recovery from oral surgery take?
Most patients are back to normal activities within 2–3 days after a routine extraction. More complex surgery may take up to a week. You'll receive clear aftercare instructions and a follow-up plan.
