Using Medisave for Dental Treatment in Singapore
All four NoFrills Dental clinics are Medisave accredited by the Ministry of Health as day surgery dental facilities, so surgical treatments such as wisdom tooth surgery and dental implants can be paid with your own or a family member's Medisave. Our front desk prepares the claim paperwork for you.

What Medisave covers at the dentist
The rule of thumb: Medisave pays for dental work that involves surgery for medical reasons, and not for non-surgical or aesthetic treatment. Surgical wisdom tooth removal and dental implants are the two most common Medisave claims at our clinics; braces, whitening and routine treatment are not claimable.

*From mid-2026, seniors aged 60 and above can use Flexi-MediSave to offset up to $400 a year for root canal treatments and permanent crowns at CHAS dental clinics. How much you can claim
CPF sets the withdrawal limits. For day surgery you can use Medisave for up to $830 per day of ward charges, plus between $240 and $5,290 for the surgical procedure itself, depending on the complexity of the operation. The exact claimable amount for your case is fixed by the procedure's classification, so we confirm it in your itemised quote before treatment starts, and the claimable portion does not need to be paid upfront.

Whose Medisave you can use
You can pay with your own Medisave or an approved dependant's: your spouse, children, parents, grandparents or siblings, with the same withdrawal limits. Grandparents and siblings must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents, and the account holder signs the authorisation form. Patients must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents to claim.
How to claim at NoFrills Dental
- Book a consultation at any of our clinics (Suntec City, Marina Square, Marine Parade, Tanjong Katong). The dentist confirms whether your treatment qualifies as a Medisave claimable day surgery procedure.
- Get the itemised quote, including the exact Medisave claimable amount for your procedure and what, if anything, is payable upfront.
- Sign the Medisave Authorisation Form for Day Surgery on the day; if you are using a family member's Medisave, the account holder signs too. Bring both NRICs and your insurance plan details (insurer and plan type, if any). Our administrative team prepares and submits everything for you.
- Pay only the balance. The claimable portion is deducted from the Medisave account directly, so you do not pay it out of pocket.
Seniors 60 and above: Flexi-MediSave
From mid-2026, Flexi-MediSave lets patients aged 60 and above offset up to $400 a year for root canal treatments and permanent crowns at CHAS dental clinics, on top of any CHAS subsidy. It is separate from the standard surgical claims on this page. Frequently asked questions
Can I use Medisave for dental treatment?
Yes, but only for treatments that involve surgery for medical reasons, such as surgical wisdom tooth removal, dental implants, sinus lifts, bone grafts, biopsies and cyst removal, done at a Medisave accredited facility. Routine and aesthetic treatments like scaling, fillings, whitening and braces are not claimable.
Can I use Medisave for wisdom tooth extraction?
If the tooth needs surgical removal, which is common for impacted wisdom teeth, yes. A simple non-surgical extraction is not claimable. The dentist confirms which category your case falls into at the consultation, before you commit.
Can I use Medisave for braces or Invisalign?
No. Orthodontic treatment such as braces and Invisalign is not claimable with Medisave, regardless of clinic. If cost is the concern, ask us about instalment plans when you book.
Can I use Medisave for crowns or root canal treatment?
Not with standard Medisave, because they are non-surgical. From mid-2026, seniors aged 60 and above can use Flexi-MediSave to offset up to $400 a year for root canal treatments and permanent crowns at CHAS dental clinics, and CHAS cards subsidise both procedures at any age.
Can I use a family member's Medisave?
Yes. Approved dependants are your spouse, children, parents, grandparents and siblings, with the same withdrawal limits as using your own account. Grandparents and siblings must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents, and the account holder signs the authorisation form.
