How much does dental treatment cost in Singapore?
Most of what people come in for sits between $50 and a few hundred dollars. A check-up is $50, a clean is $80 to $120 and a filling starts from $100. The bigger numbers belong to the treatments that rebuild or replace a tooth: a crown from $950, an implant from $1,950. The tables below are the full NoFrills Dental price list, grouped the way people actually think about their teeth rather than by clinical category.
Check-ups, x-rays and cleaning
| Treatment | Fee |
|---|---|
| Consultation and examination | $50 |
| X-ray, single tooth | $50 |
| Scaling and polishing | $80 to $120 |
| Deep cleaning, or root planing | Quoted after assessment |
| Oral cancer screening | Included in every examination |
| Persistent bad breath assessment | From $50 |
NoFrills Dental fees, before GST, which has been 9 per cent since 1 January 2024 per the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore. A first visit with a clean comes to $130 or more. Oral cancer screening is part of every routine examination, not a separate appointment or a separate fee.
Fillings, root canals and crowns
| Treatment | Fee |
|---|---|
| Composite filling, tooth coloured | From $100 |
| Temporary filling | From $60 |
| Root canal treatment | $500 to $1,300 |
| Dental crown | From $950 |
| Root canal and crown together | From $1,450 |
NoFrills Dental fees, before GST, which has been 9 per cent since 1 January 2024 per the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore. Where a tooth falls between a filling and a crown is explained on our page about cavities. None of these are claimable from MediSave, because MediSave applies to surgical procedures.
Extractions and wisdom teeth
| Treatment | Fee |
|---|---|
| Simple extraction | $150 to $350 per tooth |
| Surgical extraction | Quoted after the x-ray |
| Wisdom tooth, non-surgical | $150 to $350 per tooth |
| Wisdom tooth, surgical removal | From $1,250 per tooth |
NoFrills Dental fees, before GST, which has been 9 per cent since 1 January 2024 per the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore. Surgical removal is claimable from MediSave; a simple extraction is not. CHAS subsidises up to four extractions a calendar year.
Replacing a missing tooth
| Treatment | Fee |
|---|---|
| Dental implant | $1,950 to $6,000 |
| Bridge | From $950 per unit |
| Bridge, three units | From $2,850 |
| Partial denture | From $350 |
| Full denture | $800 to $1,300 per arch |
NoFrills Dental fees, before GST, which has been 9 per cent since 1 January 2024 per the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore. $1,950 is our economical implant option and a complete tooth. Where a case sits above that depends on what the site needs, which implant system is used and what the crown is made of, and you are told which of those apply to you before anything is agreed. Implant surgery is claimable from MediSave up to $1,950 per implant. CHAS takes up to $408.50 off a complete denture and up to $304 off a simple partial on a Blue card. Planning for implants and dentures is done at our denture and implant centre.
Straightening teeth
| Treatment | Fee |
|---|---|
| Braces, metal or ceramic | $3,500 to $6,500 |
| Braces, consultation, planning and x-rays | $250 |
| Braces, placement of brackets | From $500 |

| Invisalign | $1,888 to $6,500 |
| Smartee aligners | $2,800 to $9,800 |
| Retainer, clear removable | From $350 per set |
| Retainer, Hawley | $200 to $400 each |
| Retainer, fixed | $300 to $600 per arch |
NoFrills Dental fees, before GST, which has been 9 per cent since 1 January 2024 per the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore. Orthodontic fees are paid across the treatment rather than up front. Most adult Smartee cases land between $4,800 and $6,800 all in. Retainers are a real cost worth budgeting for, because teeth move back without them.
Cosmetic treatment
| Treatment | Fee |
|---|---|
| Veneers and bonding | $600 to $1,300 per tooth |
| Teeth whitening, chairside | From $300 |
| Teeth whitening, full treatment | $1,000 to $1,300 |

What a first visit actually costs
The question behind most price searches is not what one procedure costs, it is what you will be asked to pay the first time you sit in the chair. For a routine visit with a clean, this is it.
| A first visit with a clean | Fee |
|---|---|
| Consultation and examination | $50 |
| Scaling and polishing | $80 to $120 |
| X-ray, only if something needs looking at | $50 |
| Typical first visit, before GST | From $130 |
Illustrative, for a routine check-up and clean with no treatment needed on the day. Anything found at the examination, such as a filling from $100, is quoted before it is started.
What a CHAS Blue cardholder pays for a clean
Illustrative, using the lower end of our fee and the 2026 CHAS Blue rates. Scaling and polishing are each subsidised twice a calendar year.
What changes the price
A range is not a hedge. It is the honest span between the simplest version of a treatment and the most involved one, and four things decide where in that span your case lands.
- Which tooth it is. A single rooted front tooth is quicker to work on than a molar with three curved roots. That is why an extraction is $150 at one end and $350 at the other, and why the CHAS subsidy for a back tooth is more than double the front tooth rate.
- How far the problem has gone. Decay caught in enamel is a filling. The same decay once it reaches the nerve is root canal treatment and usually a crown. The tooth did not get more expensive, the treatment did.
- The material. A composite filling, a ceramic crown and a metal crown do not cost the same, and neither do metal braces and clear aligners. You are told what the options are and what each one costs before choosing.
- How much there is to do. Four fillings is four fillings. Where a plan runs to several visits we set the whole thing out in writing at the start, so there is no running total that only reveals itself at the end.
The cost of waiting: one tooth, four points in time
NoFrills Dental fees, before GST. The same tooth at four points in time. A small cavity treated early costs roughly a twentieth of the same tooth treated after it has been lost, which is the whole argument for a check-up you do not think you need.

What comes off the bill
Most people in Singapore are entitled to more help than they claim. Four schemes cover different things, several of them stack, and none of them require you to do anything clever: bring the card, tell us at the counter and it comes off the fee.
CHAS, Merdeka Generation and Pioneer Generation
CHAS subsidises routine dental treatment for cardholders, and it is deducted at the clinic rather than claimed back. Rates below are the maximum per claim, set by the Ministry of Health.
Maximum CHAS subsidy, 2026 rates
Maximum subsidy per claim. Scaling and polishing are each subsidised twice a calendar year, and up to four extractions a calendar year. Complete dentures attract up to $408.50 and simple partial dentures up to $304 on a Blue card. Every card and every procedure is listed in our 2026 CHAS subsidy guide, with Merdeka and Pioneer Generation rates set out separately. Source: Ministry of Health.
MediSave
MediSave pays for surgical dental treatment, not routine treatment. That single distinction explains most of the confusion: surgical removal of a wisdom tooth is claimable while a simple extraction on the tooth beside it is not.
| MediSave claim | Amount |
|---|---|
| Wisdom tooth surgery, per session | $720 to $2,740 |
| Dental implant surgery, per implant | Up to $1,950 |
| Check-ups, scaling, fillings, crowns | Not claimable |
| Simple extraction | Not claimable |
Withdrawal limits for surgical wisdom tooth removal were revised with effect from 1 April 2025 and depend on how many teeth are removed and whether the tooth had to be divided. You can use your own account or an immediate family member's, subject to CPF Board approval. See how MediSave claims work in practice.
Flexi-MediSave, if you are 60 or over
From 2026, Singaporeans aged 60 and above can use Flexi-MediSave for non-surgical dental treatment at CHAS clinics, up to $400 a year. That brings routine work such as permanent crowns and root canal treatment within reach of MediSave for the first time. The detail is in our guide to Flexi-MediSave for dental treatment in 2026.
Baby Bonus and the Child Development Account
Your child's Child Development Account can be used to pay for their dental care with us, and it is one of the most commonly forgotten entitlements on this page. Bring the card and we will process it at the counter.
Insurance and corporate panels
We accept a range of personal and corporate plans, and we are on several company panels. Which plans, and how to claim, is set out on our page about dental insurance. Bring the policy details to your first appointment rather than afterwards, because a pre-treatment estimate is easier to submit than a receipt.
Paying, and paying over time
Routine treatment is paid on the day. Longer courses are spread across the appointments, which is how most people actually afford them.
- Orthodontics is instalment based by design. For braces, planning and x-rays are $250, placement starts from $500, and the balance is paid over the monthly visits at $150 to $350 each.
- Implants are split. Payment is normally divided between the surgery and the fitting of the final crown, several months apart, with the MediSave claim taken off.
- You get the schedule in writing. Whatever the plan, the payment points go on the written quote at the start, so you can see what falls due and when before you commit.
Getting a firm figure for your own mouth
For a check-up or a clean, the numbers on this page are the numbers. For anything more, the honest answer is that we need to look, because the difference between a filling and a crown is not visible from a description over the phone. A consultation with an x-ray is $100 in total, and you leave with a written plan and a firm fee whether or not you go ahead with the treatment.
If you would rather ask first, message us with what you think you need and we will give you the range and the subsidy position before you travel. We would rather tell you a number you were not expecting on WhatsApp than in the chair.
$50 for the examination, $50 for an x-ray where one is needed, and a written quote either way.
Where to book
The same fees apply at every NoFrills Dental clinic in Singapore: Suntec City, Marina Square, Marine Parade, Tanjong Katong and our denture and implant centre at Marina Square. Our Sri Hartamas clinic in Kuala Lumpur is priced separately. Addresses and opening hours are on our clinics page, and the dentists are listed on our clinical team page. A full list of what we treat is on our dental services page, and the wider prevention guide is under oral health.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a dental check-up cost in Singapore?
A consultation and examination at NoFrills Dental is $50 before GST. A scale and polish at the same visit is a further $80 to $120, and a single tooth x-ray is $50, so a typical first appointment with a clean comes to $130 or more. CHAS cardholders have the subsidy taken off at the counter, which on a Blue card is up to $30 for the scaling and up to $20.50 for the polishing, twice a calendar year each.
Why are dental prices given as a range rather than one number?
Because the work is not the same in every mouth. A filling in a small cavity on a front tooth and a filling that wraps around a back molar take different amounts of time and material, so they cannot honestly carry the same price. The range on this page is the band a treatment normally falls into. Your own figure is confirmed in writing after the dentist has looked and, where needed, taken an x-ray, and nothing is added to it later without you agreeing first.
How much does a dental implant cost in Singapore?
At NoFrills Dental a dental implant is $1,950 to $6,000 before GST for a complete tooth, meaning the implant itself and the crown that goes on top. $1,950 is our economical option. Where a case sits above that comes down to what the site needs before the implant can go in, which implant system is used and what the crown is made of. Implant surgery is claimable from MediSave up to $1,950 per implant, so the cash outlay is usually well below the headline figure. You are told which factors apply to your own mouth, and the fee, before anything is agreed.
Which dental treatments can I claim from MediSave?
MediSave covers surgical dental procedures, not routine ones. That includes surgical removal of wisdom teeth, surgical extractions, dental implant surgery and some gum and jaw surgery. It does not cover check-ups, scaling, fillings, crowns or a simple extraction. Withdrawal limits for surgical wisdom tooth removal were revised on 1 April 2025 and now run from roughly $720 to $2,740 per session, and implant surgery is claimable up to $1,950 per implant. You can use an immediate family member's account as well as your own.
How much does CHAS take off my dental bill?
It depends on your card and the treatment. On a CHAS Blue card in 2026, scaling is subsidised up to $30 and polishing up to $20.50, twice a calendar year each; a back tooth extraction up to $68.50 and a front tooth up to $28.50; a complete denture up to $408.50 and a simple partial denture up to $304. Merdeka Generation and Pioneer Generation cards carry higher caps. The subsidy is deducted at the counter, so you pay the reduced amount rather than claiming it back.
Are your prices before or after GST?
Every fee on this page is before GST. Singapore GST has been 9 per cent since 1 January 2024, and it is shown separately on your written quote and on your receipt so you can see exactly what is fee and what is tax.
Can I pay for dental treatment in instalments?
Yes, for longer courses of treatment. Orthodontic treatment is spread across the appointments by design: for braces the planning and x-rays are $250, placement starts from $500, and the balance is paid over the monthly visits at $150 to $350 each. Implant treatment is normally split between the surgery and the fitting of the crown. Ask at the consultation and the schedule goes on the written quote.
Is a cheaper dental clinic worse?
Not automatically, and not automatically better either. What matters is whether you are told the whole cost before the work starts. The pattern worth avoiding is a low headline price for a consultation followed by a treatment plan you were not expecting. Ask any clinic for the fee in writing, ask what is not included, and ask what happens if the tooth turns out to need more than the x-ray suggested.
Is it cheaper to treat a problem early?
Substantially, and it is the single biggest thing you control. A small cavity filled early starts from $100. Left until the decay reaches the nerve, the same tooth needs root canal treatment from $500, usually with a crown from $950 on top. If the tooth is lost, replacing it with an implant starts from $1,950. Nothing about the tooth changed except how long it waited.
